چکیده

The Ginzburg–Landau model of superconductivity is considered in three dimensions. We show, for smooth bounded domains, that the superconductivity order parameter decays exponentially fast away from the boundary as the Ginzburg–Landau parameter κ tends to infinity. We prove this result for applied magnetic fields satisfying |hex| − κ κ1/2. Additionally, we prove that for applied fields greater than HC2 , the only solution in R 3 satisfying a certain decay condition is the normal state. Finally we prove that bulk superconductivity decreases to zero as |hex| ↑ HC2 , and thus extend (though in a weaker sense), the results in [23] to three-dimensional settings.

Non-linear Surface Superconductivity for Type II Superconductors in the Large-Domain Limit

The Ginzburg-Landau model for superconductivity is considered in two dimensions. We show, for smooth bounded domains, that superconductivity remains concentrated near the surface when the applied magnetic field is decreased below HC3 as long as it is greater than HC2 . We demonstrate this result in the large-domain limit, i.e, when the domain’s size tends to infinity. Additionally, we prove tha...

The Distribution of Surface Superconductivity Along the Boundary: On a Conjecture of X. B. Pan

We consider the Ginzburg-Landau model of superconductivity in two dimensions in the large κ limit. For applied magnetic fields weaker than the onset field HC3 but greater than HC2 it is well known that the superconductivity order parameter decays exponentially fast away from the boundary. It has been conjectured by X.B. Pan that this surface superconductivity solution converges pointwise to a c...

Chiral Symmetry Restoration in Anisotropic QED3

We present results from a Monte Carlo simulation of non-compact lattice QED in 3 dimensions in which an explicit anisotropy κ between x and y hopping terms has been introduced into the action. Using a parameter set corresponding to broken chiral symmetry in the isotropic limit κ = 1, we study the chiral condensate on 16, 20, and 24 lattices as κ is varied, and fit the data to an equation of sta...

Nonlinear Surface Superconductivity in the Large Κ Limit

in which Ψ is the (complex) superconducting order parameter, such that |Ψ| varies from |Ψ| = 0 (when the material is at a normal state) to |Ψ| = 1 (for the purely superconducting state). The magnetic vector potential is denoted by A (the magnetic field is then given by h = ∇×A), hex is the constant applied magnetic field, and κ is the Ginzburg–Landau parameter which is a material property. Universal scaling in BCS superconductivity in three dimensions in non - s waves ∗

The solutions of a renormalized BCS equation are studied in three space dimensions in s, p and d waves for finite-range separable potentials in the weak to medium coupling region. In the weak-coupling limit, the present BCS model yields a small coherence length ξ and a large critical temperature, Tc, appropriate for some high-Tc materials. The BCS gap, Tc, ξ and specific heat Cs(Tc) as a functi...
